Meet Our Founders
DR. TIM LANIAK
Dr. Tim Laniak (www.timlaniak.com) is co-founder of BibleJourney™, Inc. As the choreographer of our convergent media curriculum, he is also the Chief Content and Creative Officer. Tim enjoyed a strong Bible education at Wheaton College, Gordon-Conwell Seminary, Jerusalem University College, Brandeis University and Harvard University. His passion for Scripture and missions has led to a fruitful teaching ministry in churches and schools around the world, as well as writing about the Bible in its cultural context (Shame and Honor in the Book of Esther, Shepherds After My Own Heart, While Shepherds Watch Their Flocks, Finding the Lost Images of God). As Annual Professor at the Albright Institute for Archaeological Research in Jerusalem, Tim pioneered research on biblical shepherding and returned to the US to begin ShepherdLeader Ministries (www.shepherdleader.com). Now, after twenty years serving as professor, urban ministry coordinator and dean at Gordon-Conwell Seminary, Dr. Tim is bringing his rich experience, wide-ranging scholarship and deep personal passion to the BibleJourney venture. This is the biggest project Tim and Maureen have undertaken, and one that brings together all of their varied interests and gifts.
Bryan Dolan is co-founder of BibleJourney™, Inc. As leader of the business side, he is also the Chief Operating Officer. Bryan graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Queens University with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Bryan is currently enrolled in the Masters Degree in Christian Thought track at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (GCTS) and is a member of the GCTS-Charlotte Board of Advisors. Bryan brings over 40 years of business and leadership skills as an executive in the energy industry. He has also held numerous civic, church and other volunteer leadership positions. Bryan teaches the Bible in church and community settings and brings this passion to the launch of BibleJourney as we seek to engage the world in quality Bible education.
Joyce Dolan is Vice President, Corporate Support for BibleJourney, Inc. She is supporting a variety of business aspects for the launch of BibleJourney and leads the BibleJourney intercessory prayer team. Joyce graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Math. She taught both math and dance in high school settings, and she has managed and taught at dance studios. She has also directed and choreographed local theatre productions. Joyce has held numerous civic and church responsibilities. Joyce teaches the Bible in church and community settings and is the director of a dramatic presentation of the Living Last Supper. She is excited about the opportunity to bring God’s Word to the ends of the earth.
Maureen Laniak, a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, is now serving as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for BibleJourney, Inc. She is a certified K-8 school teacher who is passionate about creating experiential learning environments. Together with Tim, Maureen has served the Church in Africa, Asia and Europe, co-directed the International Fellowship House in Boston, founded Life Long Learning Group, and co-founded North Carolina’s Union Academy Charter School – winner of a national character education award. Maureen is also founder of Truth ®, a company that offers biblically inspired personal care products for women. She enjoys books, travel, yoga, perusing ethnic food shops and cooking first century biblical meals for friends and family.

Rev. John Burton
John serves as the Principal/Chief Consultant for The Burton Group PR, an end-to-end marketing and communications company with a global reach. John also helps companies build strategies for diversity, public relations and market research. John has served Christ as an NBA and marketplace chaplain and as an associate minister in Charlotte, NC. He was named one of the nation’s Legacy Makers by 1865 Company and one of the 40 Outstanding Alumni Under 40 at Winston-Salem State University.
Dr. Ki-Hyun Chun, PhD, LL.D, CCIM, CPA
Dr. Ki-Hyun Chun is President of Chun Group, an accounting and business development services company. Ki-Hyun is also the Founder & Owner of Asian Library, the largest private Asian library in the U.S., and Founder and Publisher of The Asian Herald. Ki-Hyun has achieved numerous local and international service awards for his contributions.
Dr. James Cobble
Dr. James Cobble is Founder of Christian Ministry Resources, serving over 70,000 congregations with tax, legal and administrative resources. He has a PhD in Adult Learning from the University of Illinois, and a DMin from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has authored 20 books on church leadership and risk management and has been inducted into the “Church Management Hall of Fame.”
Dr. Arnie Cole (Advisor & Liaison)
Dr. Arnie Cole is CEO of Back to the Bible, and Director of Research & Development for the Center for Bible Engagement and its app, GoTandem. As a psychologist, Arnie is leading pioneering research in behavioral and social training. He is the former CEO of MegaVoice LLC and former Vice President of Development for Mission Aviation Fellowship.
Chris Dolan is Director of Information Services and Culture Team Chair at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City. He is also an Operations Consultant for nonprofit organizations. Chris is the former Operations Manager of Redeemer’s Center for Faith & Work.
Dr. Sam Frowine
Dr. Sam Frowine is Founder, Owner and President of The Performance Group; Founder and Owner of the Institute for Business Owners; and Chairman of the Board for the Corporation for Great Enterprise. For 20 years, he has been an owner, managing partner or investor in private business. Sam has contributed to the Business Wealth Column of the Charlotte Business Journal and has authored five books.
Carole Anne Hallyburton
Carole Anne Hallyburton graduated from GCTS-Charlotte, where she now serves as a teaching associate and tutor for Hebrew language classes. She also critiques books for LifeWay, Zondervan and Paraclete Press publishing companies. One of her deepest passions, the promotion of biblical literacy, led to her production of an ongoing weekly devotional blog called His Own Heart and drew her into BibleJourney from her first knowledge of the program.
Michael Haun is the Founder and President of Storyrealing, a video production company. He is also a blacksmith, painter, photographer, videographer, inventor, sketch artist, song writer and story-teller.
Dr. Steve Klipowicz
Steve is an adult education specialist with 20 years of experience in the use of technology and learning at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to his role at the Seminary, Steve pastored churches, worked in Christian television, and consulted with churches on risk management. He is an author and contributor to several books and the popular “Deck plate Devotional” series for the military.
John Marr is an applications developer for Nike. John is also CEO of Savageapps, a software development company in Corvallis, Oregon. In addition to app development, John is an artist, author, singer / songwriter, videographer, web designer, pastor and family man.
Evan Morgan (Liaison)
Evan Morgan is Senior Vice President of Global Ministry Efforts, RBC Ministries and President of Christian University GlobalNet. Evan is the former Founder and President of Sky Media and former Vice President of Business and Chief Financial Officer of Denver Seminary.
Dr. Mike Moses
Dr. Mike Moses is Senior Pastor at Lake Forest Church, Huntersville, NC – an anchor church for BibleJourney. Mike is also the General Assembly Moderator for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Jerry Pattengale
Dr. Jerry Pattengale is Executive Director of Museum of the Bible’s education initiatives and Sr Editor of its Bible curriculum for HS students. He is university professor at Indiana Wesleyan University and holds academic posts at Sagamore Institute, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Excelsia College, Australia, & Tyndale House, Cambridge. Jerry has published 11 books on higher ed, history and student motivation, and is a newspaper columnist and regular contributor to Books & Culture.
Jeff Schneider (Advisor & liaison)
Jeff Schneider is Chief Technology Director, College of the Ozarks, and Executive Director of CircuiTree Solutions. Jeff is the former Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information and Interactive Systems at Museum of the Bible, former Executive Director of IT at Kanakuk Kamps, and has held other leadership roles in healthcare and nonprofit industries.
Dr. Cindy Wheatley
Dr. Cindy Wheatley is Sr. Vice President of Research at Keypath Education, a turnkey service for schools in online education, including program launches, marketing, enrollment management, and learning tracking. Cindy formerly served as Associate Dean for Hybrid Learning at GCTS-Charlotte, including early consulting for BibleJourney business and education plans, and the former VP for Research and Consulting at Embanet Compass Knowledge Group.
